DEFINITIONS for Play of the Day

At the end of the Year Party in March, we will give out two new additional awards, CLUB CHAMPIONS ... Low Net Player of the Year and Low Gross Player of the Year. During the months of Nov., Dec., Jan, & Feb. we will pick the low net and then low gross player. Once selected you cannot win in the other 3 months because you are already in the March play-offs which will include 4 different golfers. They will play head to head to select the final winner. Low Net is on March 2 and Low Gross is on March 9.

  • Alpha & Omega = First 5 holes and last 4 holes. Total of holes minus 1/2 your handicap.
  • B & P = Only count up holes that are NOT Birdies or Pars (or Eagles) then subtract your handicap.
  • Back Nine = Add your score on the back nine. Total minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Beat the Pro = Find out the score of the pros last game and see if you can beat that score.
  • Blind Draw = after you play we will just draw out of a hat and they win.
  • Center Cut = holes 6 through 14 minus 1/2 your handicap
  • Criers = Throw out worst 2 holes on front and 2 holes on back, revert scores to par.
  • Criss Cross = Before play, choose holes 1 or 15, 2 or 14, 3 or 13, 4 or 10, 5 or 12, 6 or 17, 7 or 11, 8 or 18, 9 or 16. Total holes you picked minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Double your Pleasure = Select the best 9 holes, after you play, and double that score, then use full handicap.
  • Even Holes = Count only the even holes. Total minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Fewest Fairway Shots = Don't count tee shot or putts.
  • Fewest Putts = low putts win.
  • Front Nine = Add your score on the front nine. Total minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Fun Day = No play of the day but scores will be posted.
  • Guess your Score = guess your score before teeing off, and also guess front nine then back nine for the tie breaker.
  • It's a Roll of the Dice = You are paired up by Nancy & the pros with low to high handicaps in each group. This is a 2 person team event, even and odd numbers. You play regular golf and after you finish the hole, you will go to the next tee box and roll the dice. The players are numbered on the official scorecard 1 down to 4. The # you throw, even or odd, is the player's score that your team will use on the previous hole. You roll from the next tee box after you have played the hole. One roll of the dice will apply to both golf carts. On the 18th hole, roll the dice on the green, after you all hole out, to see whose score you will be using. Write down your one team score per hole on the play of the day sheet. Winning team will be low gross. Last team out pick up the cup and dice at each hole.
  • Low N & G = Low Net & Low Gross, two winners.
  • Mutt & Jeff = Only count the longest 5 and shortest 4 holes. Total minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Odd Holes = Count only the odd holes. Total minus 1/2 handicap.
  • Odds & Evens = Total odd holes and total even holes. Take off 1/2 handicap on each total. 2 winners.
  • ONES = Count only the holes beginning with O, N. E, and S. subtract 1/2 handicap.
  • Pars are best = Circle 5 holes AFTER YOU PLAY and change them to pars. subtract 1/2 handicap.
  • P's & Q's = All 2 putts are worth 2 points, All 1 putts are worth 4 points, each Quacker (chip in) is worth 6 points. Add these points together and the highest points are the winners.
  • Phone # = Write down your 10 digit phone number and we will be using only the holes on the front nine. After you play, take any 4 numbers from your 10 digit phone # and change those holes scores to pars or birdies. A zero will equal any hole you want. Subtract 1/2 your handicap from your front nine adjusted score and the winner will be low net.
  • Pick Your Poison = circle any 9 holes minus 1/2 your handicap.
  • Pick your CLUBS = pick 4 clubs only then add your putter and leave the rest of your clubs in the car.
  • Scotch Play = You are paired up by the pros with a low handicap playing with a high handicap. You are partnered in this event. You both tee off on each hole. Then you play the other person's shot. Then you decide which ball is the best and you alternate shots until you putt out. You begin again with both players teeing off again. Winning teams will be low net and low gross.
  • Tee to Green = All your shots except the putts. Putts do not count.
  • T's & F's = Count only the holes that begin with T or F minus 1/2 your handicap.
  • Tin Cup (Quota) = Points are Eagle = 8, Birdie = 6, Par = 4, Bogie = 2, Double bogie = 1.
  • Trick or Treat = Pick 9 holes before you play and that's your score ... 1/2 handicap.
  • Turkey Shoot = Add your handicap to the course par (72). When you reach that score, circle your last completed hole on the scorecard. Your goal is to turn in your card with no circles and to shoot below your handicap.
  • Your Score minus your Putts = Add up your score just like normal than subtract your putts and that is your score of the day.
